After an unforgettable week filled with northern lights, sea eagles, and stunning snow-covered mountains in the Lofoten Islands, we are back home in Ski (Oslo). This trip reminded me how deeply connected I feel to nature - the quiet beauty of the Arctic, the rhythm of the seasons, and the way light transforms the landscape inspire my work.
Our Uncertain Future in Norway
How long we’ll stay here is still uncertain. Our house in the Netherlands will be available for rent again from April, so I’ll be making a (short?) visit. Perhaps just to empty the house, or maybe for a longer stay, depending on whether we find a tenant. We don’t want to leave the house empty, but for various reasons, it still feels too early to sell it. Would you like to meet for a business coffee in mid-April? Let me know! Also, if you know someone looking for a beautiful living space in the Weert area, feel free to reach out - I’d love to find the right tenant for our home.
Fine Art Prints – Looking for a New Home
While in the Netherlands, I’m offering a few fine art prints at half price, including Stardust and others. If you or someone you know - perhaps a company or institution—is interested, let me know! Some of my work will soon be displayed at the new crematorium Hoeve de Zwingel, opening later this year.
Building a Life in Norway
The future remains uncertain, and it’s challenging to plan meetups in both Norway and the Netherlands. But I’m committed to building my life and network here. I trust that things will fall into place, and I hope we’ll be here for at least another year.
To truly embrace life here, I’ve started an online Norwegian course - because let’s be honest, understanding the language makes everything easier! Norwegians appreciate it when you make the effort to learn their language.
This weekend (starting Thursday, February 27), I’ll be spending time with a group of nature photographers in the mountains - just like many Norwegians do. On March 14, I’ll help at the Norwegian Nature Photography Festival in Ski. And if you’re near Oslo, I’m hosting a nature photography workshop, "Spring is in the Air," on March 21. Let me know if you’re interested!
