A Drop of Meaning: The Power of Small Moments in Nature
A single teardrop on pastel petals.
Within the shimmer of a water droplet — wrapped in gentle colors — lies a silent, powerful message. This photo breathes softness. Silence. Stillness. And was taken right in my own garden.
Because you don’t have to travel far to be moved by nature.
“Let this image be a small light for someone who needs it — a visual whisper, inviting you to float along with life’s waves.”
The Symbolism Behind an Unselected Photograph
Later, during a mentorship with Bart Siebelink, I returned to this image.
Though it wasn’t selected for the final series on ‘colors of comfort’, it stayed with me. Because it holds something that can’t be explained — only felt.

This piece is a visual meditation.
An invitation to surrender.
To drift without resistance, without direction.
To trust what arises — and what gently asks to be released.

Draag me op de golven: Troost in Tederheid
Een zachte dialoog tussen water, licht en vorm — gevangen in een vluchtig moment van verstilling. In deze abstracte macrowereld vervagen grenzen, en drijft de waarneming langzaam weg. Is het een blad, een glimp zonlicht, of een vloeibare droom? Laat het beeld spreken tot wat er in jou wordt geraakt.
De kracht van een waterdruppel in beeld
Een kleine traan op pastelblaadjes.
In de glans van een waterdruppel — gehuld in troostrijke kleuren — schuilt een stille, krachtige boodschap. Deze foto ademt zachtheid. Stilte. Rust. En werd gemaakt in mijn eigen tuin.
Want je hoeft niet ver te reizen om geraakt te worden door de natuur.
“Laat dit beeld een lichtpuntje zijn voor wie het nodig heeft – een visuele fluistering die je uitnodigt om je te laten dragen op de golven van het leven.”
De symboliek achter een niet-geselecteerde foto
Pas later, tijdens een mentortraject bij Bart Siebelink, keerde ik terug naar deze opname. Het beeld werd uiteindelijk niet opgenomen in de geselecteerde serie over troostkleuren — en toch bleef het bij me. Omdat het iets vastlegt wat niet te benoemen is, maar wel te voelen.

Laat je meedrijven, zonder verzet, zonder richting.
Vertrouw op wat zich aandient, en op wat zachtjes losgelaten mag worden.

Mijn troostkunst wil een kalmerend baken zijn in het soms woelige landschap van het leven — zacht, licht en dragend als een golf.
Een poëtische ruimte waarin heling stil mag zijn.
