Wishing You Warm and Joyful Holidays!
As the Christmas season and New Year approach, I want to take a moment to wish everyone a warm and fulfilling holiday season. In this newsletter, I’ll reflect on the past two months, including my unforgettable Antarctic journey and the Nature Talks Photo Festival, where I had the chance to reconnect with many inspiring people.
I hope this time of year brings you moments of joy and reflection. Stay tuned for more insights into my recent adventures and the exciting projects I’m looking forward to sharing with you in the coming year.

A Life-Changing Photography Expedition
After my unforgettable photo expedition - a month-long journey to the Falkland Islands, South Georgia, and Antarctica - a place so extraordinary it’s nearly impossible to put into words, photos, or videos. It’s something you truly have to experience for yourself.
After returning from such an amazing journey, I immediately dove into preparations for the Nature Talks Photo Festival in Ede (the Netherlands), which hosted the Award Ceremony for the Nature Photographer of the Year-contest - a celebration of the connection between nature, photography and storytelling.
Inspiring Connections at Nature Talks
I was in the Netherlands just last week for the festival, where I had the chance to (re)connect with colleagues, jury members like Tin Man Lee, Joan de la Malla, Marco Gaiotti, and Jasper Doest, who was one of the inspiring speakers at the event. It was also wonderful to catch up with friends, colleagues, and other familiar faces and - and meet some new ones! These moments are always energizing and motivating, even amidst the busyness.
The Connection Between Nature, Photography, and Well-Being
In addition to all the exciting festival activities, I also had the opportunity to reflect on the powerful connection between nature, photography, and well-being - something I believe deeply in. As part of that, I completed an article on nature photography as therapy. The article will be available in Dutch bookstores by mid-February.
The image of two penguins walking through the snow π§βοΈ from my Antarctic journey is a perfect example of how nature and photography can offer both solace and inspiration. For me, these penguins symbolize companionship, resilience, and the unique beauty of the natural world.
This journey reminded me of something important: it’s easy to get caught up in daily life. But slowing down, connecting with nature, and observing the world around us can be incredibly rewarding. Whether you’re simply enjoying the beauty around you or capturing it with a camera, these moments can ground us and refresh our minds.
Check Out My Photos
If you'd like to explore more breathtaking moments from my Antarctic journey, including the two penguins I mentioned earlier, a selection of my photos is now featured on 1x.com, with more coming in the weeks (and likely months) ahead.
By the way, feel free to take a guess in the comments - how many photos do you think I took during my Antarctic journey?
What’s Next?
Now, I’m taking a short break before diving into the new year. I’ll be sharing a more in-depth newsletter in the new year, reflecting on this incredible year of adventures, nature, photography, and personal milestones.
I hope you all enjoy the festive season with your loved ones and find time to relax and reflect as we head into 2025. Wishing you all a wonderful holiday season and an inspiring start to the new year. May the joy of the season and the beauty of the natural world inspire you as we welcome 2025. πβ¨
